Form Width Settings
Form Width Settings
The Form Width Settings feature allows developers to control the display width of a form on the web interface. By selecting a width option — Small, Medium, or Large — the form layout adapts to best fit the content and the intended user experience, ensuring optimal readability and usability across different screen contexts.
Use Case Example
In an InspectPro solution:
- A simple inspection form with a few fields is configured as Small to keep the layout compact and focused.
- A detailed inspection form with multiple sections and subforms is configured as Large to take advantage of the full screen width.
- A standard data entry form is configured as Medium for a balanced layout.
Studio Configuration
Path:
Form Builder → Properties → Settings → Form Width
In the Settings tab of the Form Properties panel, scroll to the Form Width dropdown:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Small | Narrow form layout — ideal for simple forms with few fields |
| Medium | Balanced layout — suitable for standard data entry forms |
| Large | Full-width layout — best for complex forms with many fields or sections |
✅ Select the option that best matches the complexity and content density of the form.
Width Comparison
Small
- Compact, centered layout.
- Best for forms with minimal fields.
- Keeps focus on the content without visual clutter.
- Example: A quick inspection checklist or a simple status update form.
Medium
- Balanced width — wider than Small but not full-screen.
- Suitable for standard forms with a moderate number of fields.
- Provides a clean, professional appearance.
- Example: A standard inspection details form with tabs and a few sections.
Large
- Full-width layout that spans the available screen space.
- Ideal for complex forms with multiple tabs, sections, and subforms.
- Maximizes data visibility and reduces scrolling.
- Example: A detailed equipment inspection form with multiple subform sections.
